ABOUT

ABOUT DR.SONG

Dr. Cynthia Song is a licensed clinical psychologist in Oregon and Massachusetts. Before becoming a psychologist, she served as a public interest attorney in Michigan and Oregon. As a psychologist, she continues to work from a liberation framework, drawing from relational psychoanalytic theories. Dr. Song approaches therapy as a collaboration, working towards understanding the meaning behind symptoms by exploring one’s distinctive history, upbringing, and sociopolitical context--illuminating how the past and present, the external and the internal, mutually influence one another. She is especially interested in shifting patterns of psychological trauma to embolden one’s sense of agency for a more compassionate and enlivened sense of being with self and others.
