ABOUT DR.SONG

Dr. Cynthia Song is a licensed clinical psychologist in Oregon and Massachusetts. Before becoming a psychologist, she served as a public interest attorney in Michigan and Oregon. As a psychologist, she continues to work from an anti-oppressive framework, drawing from relational psychoanalytic theories. Dr. Song approaches therapy as a collaboration, working towards understanding the meaning behind manifest symptoms by exploring one’s distinctive history, upbringing, and sociopolitical context--illuminating how the past and present mutually influence one another. She is especially interested in shifting patterns of psychological trauma to embolden one’s sense of agency,  increasing cognitive and emotional flexibility for a more compassionate and creative sense of being with self and others.
